The editors at High Tower Magazine are pleased to announce that our full slate of 24 short stories for the first year of High Tower Magazine is officially finalized! This means that all contracts are sent, all money is paid, and all that’s left is for the days to roll by and the stories to be published on our website before the anthology is released.
We will no longer be considering stories for the main website. I (Anthony, Editor in Chief) intend to keep High Tower running until the madness takes me or the sun burns out, whichever comes first, but we will open a reading period for the new year of stories some time in 2025.
We will still be considering Hidden Gems, with some caveats:
Hidden Gem needs to be clearly labeled in the subject line. Otherwise, it will be deleted unread.
We do not guarantee a timely response for Hidden Gems. If you don’t hear from us for months, don’t be surprised. Simultaneous submissions, of course, are still encouraged.
As a reminder, a hidden gem is a story we loved so much, we paid the ten dollars for it out of pocket. They are not included in the yearly anthology. I am looking at options for another way to package these stories together so our authors can get more compensation, but there are no promises yet (besides the ten dollars).
All other requirements still apply. Stories must be between 500 to 10,000 words, and must be superversive (for more on what that means, see our About page).
I have some more surprises in store on the website, but in the meantime, congratulations to all authors who were accepted! You earned it - I can assure you that our standards were high.
Sincerely,
- Anthony Marchetta
Editor in Chief
