I know a lot of people who submit to us also subscribe to us, so this post is for you, as well as all of our readers.
August was a poor month for the editors. Multiple editors got sick, including hospital stays, and there was much traveling and a general influx of Life that caused us to put High Tower on the back burner.
This is unacceptable, and will never happen again. To ensure this:
We (the editors) are going to come up with a new system for organizing stories
Part of this new system is that once we accept a story, we will promptly send in a contract, and once you get it back to us signed we will promptly get you your money.
This is important because it means we can immediately put the story on our publishing schedule.
In order to get up to the full twenty-four stories for the yearly anthology, two stories will be chosen as hidden gems. Hidden gems are normally not included in the yearly anthology, but we will be making an exception for the first two.
This next bit is very important: We will do our best to respond to all of the August stories, but if you submitted a story in August or earlier and never heard from us, you are welcome to resubmit.
By taking these steps and reorganizing, we hope to ensure that we never miss another month again.
Yours sincerely,
The Editors
I'm glad you're all feeling better!
